Unit 1: Representation
Music Video
This is 'Sail' by Alwolnation official music video from Red Bull RECORDS. In this music video, narrative story is about Bruno Arron (Main singer of Alwolnation) running away from a monster/alien and trying to find camera to record his findings and hide from aliens but they managed to catch up to him and abduct him but he left camera recording everything.
Editing
In this music video, they mainly used quick cuts in most of the shots in this music video. They also uses Cross-cutting (also called split-screen) is a drama technique borrowed from the world of film editing, where two scenes are intercut to establish continuity which same happening in this music video.
At 0:30, in this sequence they used high key lighting to show that he is about to be abducted and light constantly flashes and then transition to back to his house. I noticed that they use elliptical editing which is used to change a long duration of clips into a condensed and improved shorter edit which will be more interesting. It includes modifying the order of clips and cutting out those that are unnecessary in order to save time and create a more interesting movie for the audience which is exactly happening in.
Magizines
This is Vogue Maizine cover featuring Ariani Grande

Vogues uses high key lighting for this cover, in the background there is widow being blurred out which mean they using low aperture probably 1.8 or very high focal length probably 135.
Gender Representation in media

In this film poster of captain America the winter soldier, it supports and subverts Mulvey's theory on gender stereotype in media. In this movie and this film poster it show Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson) in a tight costumes and her non verbal communication has her position be in very submissive stance and with hair all spread out which supports.
It subverts the stereotype when Captain America (Chris Evans) is wearing tight costumes and being overly fit and strong which subverts the Mulvey"s Theory on Male Gaze. While in the films they do sexualise Black Widow, they subvert the stereotype of 'Damsel in stress' by her being strong female character and better fighter than most characters in marvel movies.

Its gender typical for a man like Captain America (Chris Evans) and Nick Furry (Samuel L. Jackson) to be physically strong and to be great leaders but in the film it subverts by Black Widow being as strong and good fighter as them and in film, they all super strong and invincible which makes it more realistic because in media over years men were always seen as powerful and invincible and women to weak but in this film poster and the movie subverts gender stereotype.
For this Magazine cover they used a medium long shot Of billie Ellish to show 'attractive' of her in this magazine cover. In this Vogue Magazines cover, it supports Mulvey's theory on male gaze by how Billie Eilish is has revealing her costume is. This page cover contradict how she is usually dress in her early music video wear thick and baggy clothes and not revealing. Her costume looks it was inspired from 60s era which was very sexist at the time and women were dressed very sexual at that and mimicking that type costume can have some connotation or deeper meaning on our society.
Back in the 50s and 60s, women was always seen as sex objects or to been objectified which connotation coming from her costume and makeup. Men would always take advantage of women because society was a very sexist society and they allowedit to happen. Billie Eilish is 19 as of right now (October 2021) which has dark connotation of young women getting into this type of business at young age while although she is adult.

In this Magazine cover has a text that says,"It's all about makes you feel good". This message its encouraging this behaviour because if women have revealing dress you will most likely have access to very rich men's wallet and is encouraging this behaviour because there would infinite women pressuring this career which would be good for greedy business company's and for rich men
Ethnicity Representation in games

In Grand Theft Auto 5, One of playable characters (Franklin) is stereotypical because in game he is mostly involved in crime like robbing and murders.
The props that he is holding a baseball bat signifies he is tough and probably use it to kill someone.
His costume signifies he is in a gang life and probably be a criminal.
The counter stereotype is in the game narrative he doesn't out right kill innocent people, in game he mostly kills other criminals and bad people which is still bad but makes Franklin a little better person but in Grand Theft Auto 5 the player has the choice to kill people as him in the map which subverting the counter stereotype.

Miles Morales is ethnicity stereotypical where he lives and grew up. A another stereotypical is that his family members would be in crime like example in Spider-man Into The Spiderverse it was revealed that his uncle was one of Kingpin's employees and was trying hunt him down during the film until he realise spider-man revealed that he was Miles Morales.
His costume is counter stereotype because he is wearing custom costume from a very iconic super hero which counter stereotype. In his character, he has extra powers like ability to turn invisible and electricity powers.
The main counter stereotype is that he is main super hero, saving people and fighting villains which counter stereotype because he would most likely a criminal and villain but he is not and followed foot steps of the original spider-man (peter Parker) which helping people in need, being best version of your self and supports the iconic line of "great power comes great responsibility".
Disability represented from movies and TV shows

Miles Morales from Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales

Professor X from X-Men Series
Professor Xavier has “TV Paraplegia,” which is a form of nerve damage that completely paralyses the legs of people on television without causing chronic pain, muscle spasms, or incontinence. Depending on the version of the X-Men universe he's in, Xavier either has a spinal cord injury or his legs were crushed.
Professor X is represented as kind and thoughtful, trying to help children and adults how to control their powers and protecting them from Magneto and the government.
Throughout the series his physical disability and his powers is his worst enemy because in X-men 2, he almost killed all the humans and mutants with his mind power and in Logan, it was hinted that he might killed all X-men from his seizures and only who survived was Logan due to his power. He is shown as being super cripple.

HYDRA turns Barnes into the Winter Soldier Following Bucky Barnes' fall from Arnim Zola's speeding train, he suffered injuries that included the loss of his left arm. The prosthetic arm was only a portion of the reconstruction efforts HYDRA used in turning Barnes into their deadly assassin.
In Captain America: Winter soldier, he was represented as a villain and mindless drone due to HYDRA controlling and trying to kill captain America (his old friend).

UNIT 1 Revision
The editing is very fluid and very on going which makes the viewing experience really good. There is a lot of one shot takes which make the action very interesting.
How when Miles when into spider-verse, they edit it in way it to make seem 'crazier' and makes it a cool visual.
Transformers: Dark of the Moon (2011) - Freeway Chase Scene
Muted: When watching it without sound, I felt intense and fearful on whats going on. Only understand on whats going since I already watched movie but for people hasn't watch it might not know on what's going on in the scene or who is who. Most important things were that the main villains were trying to kill as many humans on the motor way and the Autobots were trying to get way and protect Sentinal Prime in this scene.
With Sound: After now with sound, the audience now understand what's going on and now they know why things happens in film. It also makes the CGI feel like characters. The audience feel more intrigued with sound design and adds depth into the film.
Costume: Most of the characters were wearing coats which conveys it is set during winter season winter time or early spring.
Props: Aaron was only one holding a hot drink which suggest it is the winter season and it is early in the morning.
NVC: Aaron NVC suggests he does not like Aaron from his tone of voice and trying to insult Bobby.
Lighting: Lighting is high key lighting since they are in the natural day light.
From the dialogue, Aaron was shown as person who has a maybe agenda against Muslims since he tries humiliate Bobby and the women sitting on the bench.
